A Fearsome New Friend
This awesome oversized, plastic dinosaur stands 27 inches tall, with textured green skin, a yellow underbelly, gnarly teeth, and plenty of serious spines--enough to make any young dino-enthusiast swoon. Before Spike is ready to roam the Earth, you'll need to snap his legs and tail into place. These pieces are color coded to prevent confusion, and the instruction booklet offers a nice illustration. Innovative and Easy to Control
As soon as you turn him on, spikes on this long-necked dinosaur's back and tail light up, and he starts blinking his eyes. Big, kid-friendly buttons on the durable remote control let you make Spike walk forward, turn left or right, and swing his neck around. At first he can be a little tricky to maneuver, but with just a few moments of practice, he becomes incredibly easy to control.

Holding down any one of the four middle buttons unleashes a new action. Pick between having him stand on his hind legs, swinging his neck around while unleashing a huge roar, or hanging his head low. Another button controls the motion of his jaw. Practice combining movements to snatch up the plastic boulders off the ground or toss them in the air (a skill we never perfected). There's even a mystery button that lets Spike pick any motion he wants to perform. Press it again and again to get a sense of his playful nature. Two modes let you pick between having continuous background music accompany play or just hearing occasional growls, snorts, and roars.

Durable and Adventurous
The well-crafted Spike was still going strong, even after our vigorous testing. We crashed him into table legs trying to make him crawl over obstacles that were just too high, and even though he might not have been happy about the way we dropped the remote control repeatedly, he kept right on doing all those dinosaur things that make him a fun addition to any family. While this ultra dinosaur held up well in the face of vigorous use, he could succumb to the rough reality of enthusiastic play and be damaged by children sitting on him or pulling apart his otherwise sturdy joints.

Spike's large size makes him a great outdoor playmate, but be sure to warn kids that, since he is battery-operated, he shouldn't play in streams or jump in puddles. Cooperative kids will love putting their heads together to think up new places for their friend dinosaur to explore. The height and length that make Spike so much fun may make it hard for smaller children to carry him around, especially if they are headed to a far off relative's house. While this dinosaur is recommended as a companion for children three through 10, even adults are likely to be charmed by Spike's fun-loving personality.

Greates Toy Ever!!!
We purchased this dinosaur for my 1yr old son, Ruben. Not only does my child enjoy it but us as parents do too. It is not one of those annoying toys you want to hide after a while. Very durable and fun this is one of the best toys that fisher price could have came up with. Price does the product justice. Definitely would recommend to purchase.

Ultra Dinosaur = Ultra Fun for All
My mom bought this for my younger cousin and to say the least he loved it. I'm 19 and me and some of my older cousins and older adults played with this thing then the little kids did though. I think this thing would make a great gift for anyone because it is just fun to control it.

Great Toy!! Kids Will Love it!! Godzilla for Kids!!
Spike is a GREAT toy and will be very popular over the holidays! On the upside for kids, Spike is loud, has flashing lights, and is VERY Godzilla-like in his world view!! His remote control is very simple to use and most children can master it. His mouth is big enough to completely eat the ping-pong ball size "rocks" that come with him.

On the downside, he's loud. And, like many of these robotic toys, the walking motions are not particularly smooth. Spike lurches more than he walks. But, he is capable of moving across the landscape of your family room.

Overall, great toy! Have fun. Construct a large model city with your kids and then destroy it with Spike. It is the substance from which childhood memories are made.

Absolute bellydance precision with double instruction
I don't suppose anyone in the world can dance quite like Sadie and Kaya do - but if you want even some of their skills, here they are, up for grabs on their workshop-on-a-disk, Pops Locks and Shimmies. In this power-packed instructional DVD, one of a series of two, I believe, they pretty much give away all their secrets. They take up the most controlled and precise movements that embellish belly dancing and they teach them to you with incredible clarity. They also get you to practice them, with well-conceptualized drills.

The content is all unique and you won't find it elsewhere, except perhaps for some similar content in smaller chunks on Sadie's drum solo videos. But what is most unique and impressive of all on this video is the instructional format. The two dancers don't just stand there doing exactly the same thing (I've always found that phenomenally dumb). Instead, they use each other's presence to explain and demonstrate better, from every angle, from different aspects. This is so amazingly seamless and smoothly done that it seems like a choreography in itself! Sadie and Kaya do is to switch roles and positions constantly across the entire video so that one leads the section, while the other demonstrates. They don't just use a I-say-you-do format. You'll find Sadie showing you the range of motion while Kaya shows you the sharp, locked or popped move, Kaya showing you the front view and Sadie the back view. Or, Kaya executes the move while Sadie points and explains the precise muscle work going into the move - along with the safety tips. There isn't a moment of hesitation or confusion as they switch from one role or position to another almost every minute. Not a moment of "uh oh, you were to show this part" or " oh, okay why don't I show this move". I cannot say enough about how much this maximizes the instruction quality you get with what is a very difficult subject. There's bantering, no informality, no wasting time. Every moment is focused. If you ask me, the instruction aspect is definitely award worthy.

But on to the content now. The menu is yummy. There are three pages of delicious stuff to click into. Broadly, the content is divided into upper body isolations, pelvic isolations, horizontal hip isolations, vertical hip isolations, and more vertical hip isolations. Each of these categories has instruction on the range of motion of the move, then pops, locks and shimmies with up to 3 drills.

There's no warm up on this video, though you're advised to do one, specially as you'll be working with sharp moves. Let me describe one section, to give an idea of the feel of the instruction. Kaya leads the first section to show you the range of motion with the upper body isolations; shoulders, rib cage slides, lifts and drops. This is the firs time I've heard Kaya say anything and I must say, I do like her. She's just fine. Even at this stage, explanations are deep and thorough. At the same time they're not all talk but include getting you to try it along. She tells you where to feel the move in your body and how to make sure the technique is strong. Now that you have hopefully practiced the move and know the muscles and can be somewhat autopilot about it, Sadie comes in next to tell you how to add a lock to the move. She gets you to execute the locks through the upper body moves. Again, she keeps telling you what to look out for and what to feel. This is where they begin to show you different views, different aspects, and demonstrate the move in many ways. When they're done, we get to the first drill. Sadie takes up different upper body moves in a sequence. It includes movements along all planes and you begin with a smooth range of motion and go on to add locks. Of course, you then go double time. And then you add simple footwork. The footwork is simple only in the sense of not being all over the place and not being the focus. The not so simple is the fact that you're layering complex upper body moves on the footwork. For example, it's right-left-up, left-right forward on top of a marching footstep. Kaya comes in with a drill that notches up the difficulty level. Starting with the range of motion, again, you add locks in a combination on top of footwork - in this case, flat-ball-ball-ball. Not easy. But then, you also add arms. Kaya continues into the next section with pops, which she first explains thoroughly. You go through the technique and on to a drill in the same format - combination with footwork. This hardwires layering. Layering is taken up further in the final part of this section. This is where Sadie does things like shoulder shimmies with snake arms. I tried it out for a bit - it can happen.

Sadie and Kaya follow this format through the whole video. Some of the specifi things you'll see on this video is the pelvic shimmy (which I hate), shimmy with twist, (swiveling shimmy), focus on glutes, focus on obliques, (sometimes together), ¾ ups, ¾ downs and with variations. Nothing here is done plain vanilla. Every move is layered.

Sadie and Kaya finish up with a drum solo performance in their signature style - seen on Belly Dance Live. But this time they're in leathery costumes that have upset many people. While it looks a little bit startling on the cover of the DVD, it isn't that bad inside. The performance is full of pops, locks and shimmies, of course, cascading and rippling all over the place.

Tough question to answer: what level is this? In a sense, it's truly all levels. But whoever takes it up, has to be the serious-about-belly dancing type. All drilling, and specially of precise sharp movements, is going to need work. It can be intimidating for a beginner and altogether too much for someone who wants to dance casually. But given that you're willing to work at it, I would say that all levels will benefit. A beginner who's been at the basic isolations for a while could take these drills and work at the first level of difficulty. For example, you can being down the level of difficulty by ignoring the layering on footwork. Notch up to that more slowly. This is what gives this video a long "shelf life". You can use parts of it anytime in your dance journey.

Interestingly, the content here does not overlap with Thrillin Drillin. The focus is different in any case, but so are all the drills. On Thrillin Drillin, layering itself is the target. Here, control over precise movements is what is aimed at and layering is brought in because it's very much part of this dance form and because it's the style of these two dancers. Learning these skills doesn't mean you have to take up the Sadie-Kaya dancing style - it just means you can bring in more controlled moves into your own dancing.

This video is about two and a half hours long. Both this one and Thrillin Drillin are your hard wiring. Both are hard work as well. I'm sure they were quite tough to conceptualize. I spoke with someone who has attended the Pops Locks workshop and she felt the video probably gives a lot more. It's more focused and doesn't have to be changed around depending on who's attending the class or how many people there are, it's easier to see because you can look close up, and it's got two teachers weaving the instruction between them for maximum benefit.

Sadie - Thrillin' Drillin'
I'm so glad that I bought this dvd. At first glance I thought that it was much simpler than I was hoping for. But then as I started to actually do the workout I realized that Sadie just makes it look simple because she is so fantastic. There is a lot of material here to learn. I am still in the beginning segments and although Sadie explains everything clearly with plenty of time to get it down, it is a challenge to make these combinations and drills your own. I have been going to classes for a few months now and I am so pleased to have this challenging dvd to continue my learning at home. It really is a master class with Sadie. She is a wonderful instructor, she explains and demonstrates everthing clearly and beautifully. I think this will keep me busy for a long time and continue to be great to practice with. I really recommend this dvd, it is worth the money!

Buyer beware
The product is as advertised and the materials are good and the seperate battery-operated pump works good. The size is awkward for those over 5 feet tall. It "slips" sideways a lot and is very difficult to steer. Those who like kayaks and canoes should not expect this to be the same. It gets you to where you're going and it packs in an area that easily fits in an empty trunk. The ride is frustrating so we've only used it twice in about 3 years. It's a nice and durable toy, probably great for kids who haven't been in a kayak. Certainly easier to transport than a canoe.

Fledge
It is tough to get me to spend a dollar, after much researching I finally brought the Coleman two person Canoe/Kayak. It met my needs perfectly. I live in Southwest Florida and we have some rough habitates. My first concern is that since I am female and Kayak alone I need to feel secure. I like being on top of the water, but not in it. On the madien voyage not once did I feel insecure about the boat. I am 170 pounds and it seemed to support me just fine. I sat in the front seat. Of course I was concerned about navigation and on the back bays I had no trouble. I personally would not take it in a chop or too stronge of a current, but that's me. I may get braver as I learn more. For my purpose of bird watching and exercise it was great! It was extremly comfortable. I could take a nap in it, again if dared. The only reason I came in from the water was after two hours I was exhausted. Great exercise and so fun.

Inflation: Orginally, I brought the Coleman re-chargable pump. It never worked from the get go. I returned it and brought a $10. Northwest Territoy Dule Action Hand Pump. It worked GREAT. In less than five minutes the canoe was inflated and I did not feel I used any exersion. It was easy.

The boat does not come with a rope so remember to bring your own line. Other than that and it is inflatable so fishing hooks and cigarettes could cause a mishap.

I love my new little canoe. I named it Fledge.

JUNK
After many happy years with a Sevylor Classic I needed a new inflatable kayak and got the Coleman; bad mistake. It felt flimsy and didn't handle well at all. Just avoiding subsurface rocks on a slow moving creek was an exercise in frustration and I'm darn glad I didn't try the class 2 rapids I used to enjoy in the Sevylor. Can't straighten my legs out with that attached front seat in the way either so I was uncomfortable as well. One miserable twelve mile trip and I haven't touched it since.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do: keeping kids warm in the pool. I don't understand why some people complain. I don't think this product could be made better.

Great suit
It fits perfect on my 4.5 years old son and since he wore with this swim suit, I haven't heard he complained and the suit keeps my son warm when he's in or out of the pool.

Very good beginner's snorkeling kit
I purchased this snorkeling set for my first shot at snorkeling. This was a very good basic set, good for a beginner. The one problem with the snorkel was that if it went under water, it would fill up with water. Some more advanced snorkels have a small valve in the top, which prevents this from happening. One important thing to note is the sizing. The sizes provided on the website are for MEN only. For WOMEN, the sizes are different. I have copied the following chart from the actual box, so this can be used while purchasing. All of these are US sizes.

Good value, but tight flippers
This package is definitely a good value, but be warned if you have big feet. I wear a 13 and these flippers are SO freaking tight. I wist they made a bigger pair. If you wear a 14 or higher, forget about it.

EOS Integrated Cleaning System Photographers who must change lenses in dusty environments will find the advanced Canon EOS Integrated Cleaning System a tremendous time saver. Dust that settles on the sensor surface is removed using ultrasonic vibration. This Self Cleaning Sensor Unit routine is automatically activated whenever the camera is powered on or off. (It can also be manually activated.) A special collar positioned around the sensor collects the loosened dust. Dust particles can also be automatically removed via software. By shooting a plain white subject, the photographer can acquire dust position data that is transmitted along with the image (whether JPEG or RAW). Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) version 3.3 or later software can be used to manually or automatically erase the dust spots. It's not one feature, it's a built-in system to minimize the effect of dust in high-resolution digital images.



Self Cleaning Sensor Unit A key element of minimizing dust is preventing it from clinging to the front surface of the imaging sensor. To combat against this, the EOS Rebel XSi features a Canon-designed Self Cleaning Sensor Unit. The low-pass filter at the front of the sensor shakes off dust automatically with ultrasonic vibrations, removing dust from the sensor assembly. The EOS Rebel XSi has a new coating on the front surface of the low-pass filter, to increase its resistance to dust sticking to the sensor.

Dust Delete Data Detection Dust that may still remain on the front of the sensor can also be erased with software included in Digital Photo Professional (DPP) Version 3.3 or later software. A simple test shot of a plain, white object can be taken, using a menu setting. This Dust Delete Data image is analyzed in-camera, and the location and size of any remaining dust is added to any subsequent pictures taken. This data is transmitted along with the image, whether JPEG or RAW, and can be either manually or automatically erased in Canon’s DPP version 3.3 and later software. This added software option ensures the cleanest possible image, perfect for printing or archiving.



Picture Style settings With the EOS Rebel XSi’s Picture Style technology, photographers can change the look of their digital photographs. Color, saturation, sharpness and contrast settings create noticeable variation in the saved image. Changing a Picture Style setting is almost like a 35mm film user switching from one type of color film to another. In addition to six preset Picture Style settings, Canon offers additional downloadable "Picture Style Files," that can be installed into your camera for even more imaging options at your fingertips.

Highlight Tone Priority This vital Custom Function lets photographers get even better detail in bright highlights, even in contrasty lighting conditions. It’s beneficial for nearly any type of picture, from mid-day shots on a safari to portraits in sunlight, where a user may encounter bright highlight areas where he or she wants to preserve details. With E-TTL II, the exact same 35-zone metering sensor used for measuring ambient light is also used for flash metering -- giving even finer metering command of the image area. The Canon Speedlite 430EX is the ideal step-up accessory for powerful flash shooting with the EOS Rebel XSi. Very impressive DSLR
Upgraded my lighweight travel camera to the XSi from a Pentax iST DSLR. Very satisfied with the Canon. Use a 5D for deliberate work but find it too heavy for a walk around camera. Particularly like the ability to capture in RAW in the custom mode and immediately switch to JPEG capture in the preset mode by just turning the dial. Also benefit from extending the telephoto lens when needed with the XSi.

LOVE THIS CAMERA
I've just upgraded from the 300D to the new XSI. What a difference in terms of speed, options and the 12 MP are incredible. I love the creative flexibility of this camera. For the advanced amateur, this is the camera for you!

From Beginner to Beginner
This is my first SLR and it only took three years of research and self-justification to finally take the plunge and so far I don't have any regrets!

I went with the 18-55 kit lens and the matching 55-250 lens to stay within a budget and even my worse pictures in automatic mode are optically better than my late model point and shoot.

Moving from a point and shoot to an SLR is a little overwhelming. Concepts like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how they relate do take some time to understand but once you get past that hurdle - all of the buttons just seem to make sense somehow. If you don't have a friend that can help you, I definitely recommend studying the basic mechanical concepts and reading up on composition tips - and then go out and shoot a ton of photos [just for fun] and try out some different things. Also, I haven't had any problems with the auto-focus issues that some have described - though now that I'm shooting in what's called Av or aperture priority mode, I changed my AF setting to use the center point instead of the all points mode and I get great focusing.

P.S. Don't try to shoot flying butterflies, it's not practical :)

Flip Video Mino
i purchased the mino just over a month ago. i was primarily looking for a video camera that was small, had a decent battery and made it easy to transfer the footage. the flip meets all three qualifications. i've used my flip more in the past few weeks than i've used my larger camcorder in the past three years collectively. it's small size makes it perfect to keep in my purse so that it's always at hand for the random, funny moments that you never expect but would love to have recorded.

at first, i was concerned that the 60 minute battery life wouldn't be enough. however, in the past three weeks i've taken it out with friends, to a political rally, and on a weekend trip and have had plenty of time and battery life left. it's an extremely simple process to transfer the footage to your computer so i no longer have to worry about footage sitting on my camcorder for months at a time. plus, i really like that i can email it to my friends in a matter of minutes.

so far, i have two negatives: (1) i was recording last weekend and it froze while i was recording. it wouldn't turn off so i had to let the battery die before i could do anything with it. thankfully, it froze just as i was finished recording. however, i am concerned that it may happen again. (2) the video editing software that is on the flip is extremely basic. to really do anything w/ your footage, you need to purchase additional software. while i didn't expect it to come w/ top-notch software, i thought it would be a little more advanced.

a friend has the original flip and while it really isn't that much larger than the mino, i definitely prefer the mino. it's a sleeker design that is worth the extra few dollars. overall, i love my flip. i'm confident that i will record a lot more memories than i ever would have w/ a regular camcorder.

The Mino is an excellent product. I have used it in many situations and have found only one minor difficulty - stabilization.

I have tried using the Mino while walking and I can keep a subject in frame and not too jerky, but the 'bounce' created from my pace is nearly impossible to overcome.

However, even then, the results are quite amazing.

So, for the next generation, may I suggest increasing resolution and improving stabilization.

As for the Amazon title - Amazon offered this product in two colors for the same price. While my order was processing, Amazon reduced the price of the white Mino by $20. I had ordered a white Mino, which I did not receive until many weeks after the discound was announced, but I did not receive the anticipated discount.

IOW - Amazon cheats its customers.
